Happy May! This month is when I change up my makeup routine a bit. The warmer weather calls for lighter coverage and colors in my life. I LOVE this time of year for makeup. I think it’s because I unconsciously associate it with celebrations, Game of Thrones, summer break (Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to my fellow educators by the way), summer lovin’, and traveling!
These are my beauty faves for the month of May…
- Temptu Highlighter
I’m starting with this Temptu Highlighter because I haven’t been this excited about a product in a very long time. This highlighter has the ability to make it seem like you’re permanently in good lighting. I love the bronze look for warmer weather and this is definitely going to be a staple in my makeup bag throughout the summer. FYI a VERY LITTLE bit goes a LONG WAY!!! Use sparsely or the effect won’t look natural.
- Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Body Gel Oil
I have been obsessed with this moisturizer since it came out. It gives your skin a really pretty glow. I wore is on my wedding day. This is another product to use sparingly in order to avoid a greasy look.
- NYX High Shine Lipgloss
On my wedding day, my makeup artist gave this to me to keep my lips looking great for the rest of the night. She topped my nude lip off with this gloss and I fell in love. The color that I’m currently using is called Candy Shop but at $5 per tube I’m bound to end up with every shade before it’s over.
- Maybelline Dream Fresh BB 8-In-1 Beauty Balm Skin Perfector
I switch from my heavier foundation to a lighter BB cream during warmer weather. I feel like it doesn’t weigh my face down (if that’s a thing). This is currently my favorite BB cream. I used this last summer and returned to it again this year!
- e.l.f. Smudge Pot Cream Eyeshadow
The creamy consistency of this eyeshadow is perfect and makes it so easy to apply. I’m using the “Brownie Points” shade which is on point with my bronze goddess look that I plan on rocking for a while. This eyeshadow can also be used as an eyeliner.
- Naked Cosmetics Mica Pigment in Sierra Nevada #2
Ok…so this product is amazingly versatile. I wear it alone as my eyeshadow (for a light shimmer) or either I mix it with other colors from my nude pallets when I want to customize my color a bit. BE CAREFUL while handling this eyeshadow. It’s loose. It’s messy. But it’s worth it.
- Maybelline Mineral Power Bronzer
I’ve been using this Bronzer as my finishing powder on days where I want light coverage but still want to set my makeup so that it won’t run throughout the day. I use a larger allover face brush for this. Again, I only use a little as my day to day look could be described as very simple/natural with a hint of Beyonce’.
Hope you found a new favorite of your own on here!
Until next time,
