I went to the MAC Counter last week in search of foundation that would be light enough for the summer but still provide good coverage. Everyone knows that MAC Products have a stellar rep in the makeup realm and the company is responsible for a few cult favorites, but I had never used any MAC products for my face before. Over the past week I’ve fallen in love with three products that have made my morning makeup routine so much easier.

MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ (retails for $22): I’ve become obsessed with this spray over the last week and actually plan on returning for the purse size this weekend so that I can experience its refreshing power on the go. I’ve cut down on my primer in exchange for a few sprays of this product before applying my makeup. I have dry skin so the extra moisture is amazing. When I’m finished with my makeup routine, I spray this on my face a couple more times for extra moisture and to also create a natural/dewy finish.

Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation (retails for $36): This foundation is a little pricey but it’s worth it. It blends perfectly. It is lightweight enough to not feel gross in warmer weather but also provides amazing coverage. Due to it’s dependable formula, it saves me a lot of time in the morning which is priceless. I have not had to spend any extra time blending and I don’t have to worry about it looking unnatural. I’m a teacher by day and the extra early mornings (especially now at the end of the school-year when many of us are weary and downtrodden) are brutal so I love that this foundation allows my makeup time to not surpass 5 minutes. So it helps getting out of the door on time a more realistic goal for me.

This powder is great because it’s lightweight and buildable. So on my problem areas where I experience a tad bit of hyper-pigmentation, I can lay it on without it looking cakey.

I hope you found at least some of this useful and I’ll be back soon with any makeup newness I find worth talking about!
